Codes in Employment Authorization Documents
Agencies that verify applicants' eligibility for benefits often receive an employment authorization form (EAD). To help these agencies determine an applicant's eligibility, different category codes are used. Each of these codes indicates the federal benefits and regulations that apply to the permit in question. If you have a work authorization permit that allows you to work legally in the United States, it will have a specific category that will help potential employers to research the details of your hiring. One of these is the C10 category work permit.
What is Category C10?
Bajo la guía de códigos para permisos de trabajo, el permiso de trabajo categoría C10 se refiere a aquellos alojados bajo la Ley de Adaptación Nicaragüense y Ayuda Centroamericana (Nicaraguan Adjustment and Central American Relief Act). Esto le proporciona asistencia a solicitantes que, bajo la sección 203, están aplicando para suspensión o cancelación de deportación. - Un ciudadano guatemalteco que ingresó por primera vez a los Estados Unidos el 1 de octubre de 1990 o antes (miembro de la clase ABC); registrado para beneficios ABC el 31 de diciembre de 1991 o antes; solicitó asilo el 3 de enero de 1995 o antes; y no fue detenido al momento de ingresar después del 19 de diciembre de 1990.
- Un ciudadano salvadoreño que ingresó por primera vez a los Estados Unidos el 19 de septiembre de 1990 o antes (miembro de la clase ABC); registrado para beneficios ABC antes del 31 de octubre de 1991 (ya sea directamente o mediante la solicitud de Estatus de Protección Temporal (TPS)); solicitó asilo el 16 de febrero de 1996 o antes; y no fue detenido al momento de ingresar después del 19 de diciembre de 1990.
- A Guatemalan or Salvadoran citizen who submitted an application for asylum on or before April 1, 1990 and has not received a final decision on his or her asylum application.
